Diwali in india is celebrated with jubilation and enthusiasm. It is one of the biggest
festival of hindus and is celebrated for five continuous days. Third day is the
day of diwali and is celebrated as the festival of lights. To mark this day people
light diyas and candles all around their house. During the evening lakshmi puja
is performed to seek divine blessings of goddess of wealth. People also exchange
diwali gifts with all their dear ones and burst fire crackers in the night to express
their happiness.

Dassera(The victory of good over evil) |
It is the nine days festival. Which signifies the victory of good over Evil. As
diverse as India is, it is but natural that Good and Evil take various forms in
different parts of the country. Central and North India celebrate lord Ramas victory
over the ten-headed Ravana. In the East, in west Bengal, this festival marks the
victory of goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. In the state of Himachal, a
week long fair at Kullu is a part of the Dussehra celebrations. Form the little
temples in the hills, deities are brought in procession to the Kullu fair ground
with a lot of gaiety,music and colour. Down south in the city of mysore, the exotic
and colourful celebration of dussehra leaves many a visitor enthralled.

Hariyali Amavasya Fair is two-day fair celebrated on the banks of fatch Sagar Lake
on July-August. It is one of the seasonal festivals of Udaipur. Processions are
carried out in Udaipur and Haldighati to commemorate Rana Pratap on Pratap Jayanti.
The first day is devoted to women and the other day is for men. Even though Hariyali
Amavasya Fair is celebrated by both men and women but it is mainly a festival for
ladies,when they pray for prosperity for all the family . on this fair the municipal
council organises sweet stalls, jhoolas (children’s swings), and boating on the
lake.
